Hosam Hakim received his M.D. from Tishreen University in Latakia, Syria, where he earned the recognition of Academic Superiority 2nd in class upon graduation. He completed his internal medicine residency at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, Illinois. He then went on to complete his Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan where he was chief fellow during his third year.
Dr. Hakim is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Hematology and Medical Oncology. He has a special interest in the treatment of lung and GI cancers. In addition to treating patients, Dr. Hakim is dedicated to assisting in the training of medical students, residents and fellows.
During his free time Dr. Hakim enjoys hiking and spending time with his family.
