Throughout your cancer treatment, our staff members are committed to putting your needs at the forefront.
Hematology Oncology
Hematology Oncology focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of blood related cancers. Through the use of established diagnostic approaches and our on-site laboratory, we can assist patients in defining treatment plans to address their specific needs. Providing specialized care for all types of cancers of the blood, including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma as well as related disorders of the blood, such as aplastic anemia and myelodysplasia is a key focus of our practice.
Radiation Oncology
Simply put, radiation therapy uses radiation energy to kill cancer cells. These penetrating beams of energy are the same as those used in ordinary x-rays, only at much higher energies and doses.
If Radiation Therapy is part of your cancer treatment, your radiation team is a group of experts who will work closely with each other and with you to give you every possible advantage as you proceed through treatment:
- Radiation Oncologists
- Medical Physicists
- Dosimetrists (carry out your medical plan)
- Radiation Therapists
- Nurses
- Dietitians
- Social Workers
Surgical Oncology
Surgery to remove a tumor may be part of your cancer treatment. Surgery may be combined with radiation and/or chemotherapy. The Great Lakes Management Specialist team understands how overwhelming the surgery experience can feel. We are ready to help you every step of the way.
