ROBERT M. O’BRYAN, M.D., F.A.C.P.

 

            Robert M. O’Bryan, M.D. specializes in Medical Oncology.  He has 35 years experience in patient care, teaching and clinical research.  He received his medical degree from Loyola University School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, and post graduate training in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology from Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.  He is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and holds a Clinical Associate Professor appointment at the University of Michigan School of Medicine.

            His background includes the Henry Ford Medical Group’s Principle  Investigator for the Southwest Oncology Group, Division Head of Hematology/Oncology  of Henry Ford Hospital, Chairman of Investigational Review Board of Henry Ford Hospital and member of Henry Ford Medical  Group Board of Governors.  He has served as a medical officer in Cancer Control at the National Cancer Institute and is a past President of the Board of Directors of the Michigan Division of the American Cancer Society.   Dr. O’Bryan’s multiple publications focus upon systemic chemotherapy and hormone therapy for patients with malignancy.  He was among the first to evaluate quality of life  for patients undergoing clinical trials.   Professional memberships include the American College of Physicians, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Southwest Oncology Group, Radiation Therapy Oncology Group and The Michigan Society of Hematology and Oncology.
