EFRAIN R. CASAS, M.D., F.A.C.P.
Efrain R. Casas, M.D. received his Doctorate of Medicine in 1968 at the National University of Bogota, Colombia. His internship and residence in Internal Medicine as well as his fellowship in Medical Oncology were all done at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Casas is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Palliative Medicine and Hospice. He has been the Medical Director of the Hospice program at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital since 1991. Dr. Casas has been a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine since 1988. He is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and a member in good standing of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. In 1995, Dr. Casas was given the prestigious Medallion Award by the St. Joseph Foundation. This award is given annually to a physician who provides both exemplary service in the area of patient care and is held in high esteem by his colleagues and co-workers.
